Introduction
The need for oil and gas to fulfill human life is increasing. Until now, vast natural resources have not been utilized optimally due to professional human resources in the oil and gas sector. One example is the rich province, South Sumatra, which has the slogan of developing potential energy resources in South Sumatra, 2006. This potential energy resource is a development priority that will be carried out in South Sumatra.
Palembang Akamigas Polytechnic is one of the tertiary institutions which is part of the national education system based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, which aims to produce graduates who have professional abilities in developing, disseminating science and technology, as well as seeking their application and improving people's lives. in accordance with development needs, especially in the energy sector as part of a universal scientific community system.
To realize accurate analysis results regarding the above standard values, professional experts are needed who are good at analyzing and adept at utilizing the technology used. to analyze oil and natural gas. Based on this idea, Akamigas Palembang Polytechnic opens up opportunities to produce professional human resources in the field of oil and gas analysis through the Oil and Gas Laboratory Analysis Engineering study program.

The human resources that will be created in the Oil and Gas Laboratory Analysis Engineering department are professional human resources in the oil and gas field. Alumni can work in the areas of water testing laboratories, crude oil testing, aviation fuel testing, non-aviation fuel and special fuel, lubricant testing, natural gas testing, petrochemical product testing, research and development laboratories, gas analysis and testing laboratories and scientific laboratories .
